Big-brand websites. Built by your neighbor.

I’m Dave Ostrowski. I spent years at Turner Broadcasting working with some of the biggest names in news and sports. Now I build websites for Flathead Valley businesses.

From broadcast to your website

I got my start in radio. While studying broadcast production and sales at Vincennes University, I worked at stations like WVUB, WFML and WABX. In 2004 I moved into television at WFQX in northern Michigan. After a stop back home in Milwaukee, a friend called and asked if I’d help his team at Turner Broadcasting. A short conversation later, I was on my way to Atlanta.

I spent years at Turner Broadcasting working on some of the biggest names in news and sports: TNT, TBS, the NBA, NCAA, PGA Tour, PGA of America, HBO and Warner Bros. When the audience is millions of people, you learn fast. Be clear. Be reliable. Never miss the moment.

Outside of work, I volunteered at my church in Kennesaw, building its website and running live audio. That’s where I found out how much I enjoy helping a small team do something well with limited time and budget.

Over time I moved from media into engineering, leading teams that build products for millions of learners at Coursera. I’ve always loved creative work, and I love helping other people find their creative side.

That’s what Motherload is about. It brings together a broadcaster’s instinct for telling a story, an engineer’s habit of building things that work, and a neighbor’s commitment to your business. Big-brand quality, without the big-agency runaround.

I live here, and I work for neighbors

I’m in Kalispell, and Motherload is built for the businesses around me: Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls and the rest of the Flathead Valley.

Kalispell is a special place, and it needs to stay that way. The mountains and the lake are part of it. But what really makes this valley special is the people: the owners, crews and families who open their doors every morning.

I want to make an impact for those small businesses. When a local shop, restaurant or contractor does well, the whole community does well. A website that brings in calls, bookings and customers is one way I can help that happen.

I know what it takes to get people through the door. Your website should do the same thing.
